Re: Nolan on getting booed
Have you noticed the hate towards you, 1941? Even with Nolan at the club you are a hated more than him?

Re: Nolan on getting booed
That looks like an official club statement Chelmsford.

Re: Nolan on getting booed
Spot on jack flash. The only plus side is Nolan is big enough to handle it and whilst the boo boys are booing him they're leaving someone else alone. Sadly there has always been a group of our so called fans that have to have a hate figure. At the moment it's Nolan, if he moves on they'll find someone else.

The booing was embarrassing. Sadly every club has it's share of morons.

spot on

Re: Nolan on getting booed
His goal return has been poor when you consider the team and tactics are built around him. The only player in the last 3 years who can do as he pleases with no instructions on the pitch.

Allardyce loves him. Why? Wasn't he accused of trying to bully players (Morrison) into changing agent to Curtis.

Re: Nolan on getting booed
Miike, I have to disagree mate. Whereas he's maybe not a hate figure, to be booed just for doing his job is pretty pathetic. He's not going to say "You know what boss, they're right, I am shit and you shouldn't play me."

He played a major part in our promotion and in us staying in the Premier League and he dropped into the Championship to do that. His reward was a very attractive five year deal on around £50,000 a week. Fair play to him.

Everyone including him knew that the final two years of that deal would be him in decline as a player but the carrot needed to be dangled in order for him to sign. A lot of money but he has contributed which is far more than a lot of other players in our history have done.

Re: Nolan on getting booed
pagey, he's hardly a hate figure. he's been poor for a lot of the last eighteen months and fans have moaned about him being the first name on the team sheet, that's all. there's no campaign targeting him

Pagey 8:43 Fri Oct 17
Re: Nolan on getting booed
Nolan isn't the greatest player by a long way and he never has been, however he has more than contributed to us being in the relatively healthy position that we're in right now. Especially when you consider the state we were in when he arrived.

Some of our fans MUST have a hate figure though.

Re: Nolan on getting booed
I agree. not that it's right but many players have had far worse than Nolan and paid far less. why don't he just get on with it rather than crying to the press

Re: Nolan on getting booed
Christian Daily was booed more loudly by the West Ham away support up at Norwich years ago He maintained a dignified silence even though it must have been horrible for him.

Re: Nolan on getting booed
There can't be many fans in the world who boo their own club captain coming on before he's even kicked a ball!

It just shows what a deluded bunch of dickheads we have as supporters

I can't believe many of us would like to see him starting every game

He came on as substitute to use his experience to gee up a faltering midfield & did exactly that

It was a good substitution, which worked

We came away with 3 points & a clean sheet

Re: Nolan on getting booed
Very nearly come to blows with hartsons old man in swansea when we lost in the cup, same sort of thing- cunting off of his boy- tbf that night he had a shocker..

Dont really agree with booing nolan, unless he starts!! Think hes a useful player to have on the bench imo.

Really rates himself doesn't he ?

The 7 goals he scored last season were really important

What about the 25 plus games he went missing ?

Re: Nolan on getting booed
Fair play to his comments.

He isn't good enough to be in this current squad and doesn't bring enough to the team but to boo him is a bit embarrassing.

The ridiculous thing is Carlton Cole is just as shit yet we sing his name.

Don't get me wrong when the team is shit and we have paid a lot of money to watch them then we should make our feelings clear but may I state at the end of the match and not during which doesn't help at all. Singling out players is not on though and again never going to help.

End of the day though he is pony

"Club captain Nolan came on as a second-half substitute and wasted a glorious opportunity to score in the 2-0 victory"

bit of a dig there.
